This department deals with the central registration of readers older than 15 years of age and provides basic orientational, bibliographic, factual and reference information.

Other services:

• Internet access points - public Internet;
• photocopying service;
• reader's account activation - allows readers to monitor the current status of their reader's account;
• financial account activation - offers readers the chance to set up a financial account from which all library payments will automatically be drawn
• the collection of fees (registration fees, fines for the late return of documents, reservation, losses etc.);
• issuing and accepting the return of certain documents, prolonging the lending period, one-off lending;
• offering access to Czech and foreign electronic databases;
• providing excursions for the public;
• the organisation of usage education for the public;
• offering access to telephone directories - Zlaté stránky ČR (the Czech version of "Yellow Pages"), the sale of diskettes, telephone cards, postcards and polythene bags;
• "magazine exchange".
